On May 15, 2025, SOS Children's Village Xiengkhuang organized a training workshop to disseminate information on Children's Rights and Child Safeguarding for students at Latkhai Secondary School in Xiengkhuang Province. The objective of the dissemination was for the students to be aware of their rights to survival and participation, and to learn about protection against labor exploitation and abuse in all forms.
The activity content emphasized: What are Children's Rights? including the following topics:
- The Right to Protection (or Safeguarding)
- The Right to Participation
- The Right to Development
- The Right to Survival
And also, what knowledge is included in the area of Child Safeguarding (or Child Protection)? The content emphasized the following topics:
- Protection from all forms of Abuse.
- Protection from Exploitation/Molestation. (or Sexual Abuse)
- Protection from Human Trafficking.
- Protection from Discrimination.
- Protection from Child Labour Exploitation.
- The activities were conducted in the form of a lecture and emphasized a question and answer session on the aforementioned topics. This was intended to ensure that the students gain a thorough understanding, participate actively, and know the channels for seeking assistance within the community regarding child protection work. This also aimed to ensure a correct understanding of Children's Rights and to promote its widespread dissemination.
