Mother Thammala is one of the mothers in SOS Children's Village Pakse who has dedicated her sweat, effort, and spirit to caring for children in the program. Mother Thammala Arkhayang was born on December 6, 1973, and came to work at SOS Children's Village Pakse on April 30, 1997, as the 10th family mother after hearing about it on the radio and being encouraged by friends. Mother Thammala graduated with a degree in Computer Science and is someone who loves children. Mother Thammala served as an SOS mother from 1997-2013, for 16 years during which she dedicated her effort, gave love, warmth, and attachment to her children in the SOS family. She raised 3 generations of children before deciding to start her own family. During her time as an SOS mother, Mother Thammala was highly responsible, and it's no surprise that the results were like her own children that she raised - those children all achieved success in life, have jobs, and are good people in society. There is one thing that is deeply impressive and incomparable in Mother Thammala's sacrifice that SOS Children's Villages Laos appreciates and recognizes - her sacrifice in the love and bond she has with her children in the family, such as:
